Merrydew (Jul 22nd, 2012 at 2:13 pm)*cry* Now what am I gonna read??!! Good luck in your ventures and I hope to see this again in another incarnation.
DW (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 12:50 pm)I know! *cry*
Hoomi (Jul 22nd, 2012 at 5:01 pm)I understand the reasonings, though I will miss popping over here each week to read the latest update, and seeing where the story goes. Best wishes in your art work, and I hope to see you at some of the cons in the near future.
CyMoahk (Jul 22nd, 2012 at 6:51 pm)This... makes me well more depressed than any webcomic has or should. I understand why, and even if I disagree with one of the lines of thought, I hope you the best and will still be following here and on dA, as your work is amazing. And I will keep my fingers crossed for that future, other-form version of Eldlor.
Seros Senric (Jul 22nd, 2012 at 7:55 pm)This is a little upsetting for me. I've been enjoying this webcomic for a while, and I've already had a couple others I've been following regularly for a while die recently.
Allayna (Jul 22nd, 2012 at 8:38 pm)Wow I will really miss this comic.... Sadly another fav of mine that stopped. At least I can still stalk your DA for pretty dragons and such right?
sparkplug54 (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 4:58 am)This is bad news. I understand that you have been working hard on creating this story, and the frustrations that can come with this much unpaid work. "Planes" is one of the most impressive comics that I have come upon. The artwork is exquisite, and the story is huge. I started following it and knew it would take a long time before the story would be finished. That's OK. The reward is worth the wait. I compare "Planes" with such works as "Paradigm Shift," (nearing completion), "Phoenix Requiem" (finished), Shades (completed), "The Dreamer" (ongoing). In other words, "Planes" is in excellent (and exceptional) company. I commend you on the work done so far, but, wow, this announcement is sad. I must respect your decision, but that doesn't mean I gotta like it. This has been part of my Monday ritual for months. Thanks for the ride so far. I wish you well.
Teru (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 11:54 am)Sad... I am going to keep an eye on the main site, for sure, and I already stalk Nightlyre's deviantART.
I with the both of you the best and hope to see more of Eldlor one day! Good luck, to the both of you. <3
DW (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 12:53 pm)Wow. I feel like this came out of nowhere. Maybe I just didn't see the signs. As a fellow artist I understand, but as a reader, I'm going to miss you're work. I feel like things were just starting to come full circle with one group of characters meeting the other.
I'll miss you're comic, you've been an inspiration to start my own webcomic.
You will be missed.
Iron Ed (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 4:43 pm)Well.. I'm sad. I have read your explanation (thank you for that!) and it does make sense to me, but I will really miss Planes of Eldlor. I was visiting here daily for a long time; I often found some detail to like in the week's page only on the 3rd or 4th viewing! I also liked to both check the comments and to vote, daily. Considering the quality of the art AND writing I never had a problem with once-per-week updates, but I can understand that it could be very frustrating for you, and that level of artwork has to be -really- time consuming.
Anyway... Best of luck, success and happiness to you both in the future! I have added Nightlyre to my 'Watch' list on Deviant Art to keep up with you.
srathbun (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 8:02 pm)But, but... you were part of my weekly routine!
Gately (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 8:41 pm)Oh, OK then. Bye.
Jae (Jul 23rd, 2012 at 9:47 pm)Er, guys... It's July 24th... not April 1st. And this joke has been seriously overdone. ...guys? *crickets*
Okay, yeah, in all seriousness... This makes me sad, but I understand your reasoning. I just wish there had been some warning. It's just so sudden. Everything was going fine, building up to the main plot, and then BAM! All done. :-/
Brock (Jul 24th, 2012 at 10:41 am)Oh, stink. :( Agreed with all the other comments above - very sad. Still, I'll keep this on my radar to see what you guys are up to.
TC (Jul 24th, 2012 at 10:58 am)This is so sad! I'm glad I can keep up with Sarrah on dA, though. I had really hoped this would keep going because I love this sort of high fantasy story.
The_Grand_User (Jul 24th, 2012 at 6:26 pm)Noooooooo! This was one of my favorites, and one of the far too few with good dragons as important characters. This was just so sudden, it seemed the comic was goign strong and healthy, and just about to get into the good action. I hope things change eventually and you can be free to continue to create the story once more. And I liked that even though it was only updated once a week, it was faithful to do so. I hope you other endevers go well at least (particularly if any of those possible short story comics might center around one of the dragons!).
(And what was particularly cruel, though not your fault, was I read the news the other day, then dreamed that night that you got such overwhelming feedback that you changed you mind, only to wake up and realize it was a dream :( )
MSB (Jul 25th, 2012 at 2:27 am)It really shouldn't, but good lord does it sting reading that news. This is one of the many comics I'd become dearly attached to over the course of the time I've spent with following it. And while I understand that life has a way of doing these things and it's understandable why you have to do so, it still doesn't lessen the blow. I'm not going to lie that reading that news felt like a kick in the chest, but as I said, I do understand.
I'll drop by on occasion to see what you two are up to, but I guess this is something of a farewell. :( Take care of yourselves and good luck with your future endeavors!
Dragonetgirl (Jul 25th, 2012 at 8:51 am)this is a really sad thing to read. i respect your desisions, and dispite the fact that you have said you will not release info on the rest of the story I will still keep an eye on channels that might keep me up to date if any news might come up.
this was a comic that I have followed for nearly 2 years, even if i was just a lurker I still loved reading the updates every time.
im sad to see this comic go, but i will not forget it.
MSB (Jul 26th, 2012 at 8:14 pm)May I suggest putting up a post somewhere on one of the first parts of the comic for new readers that otherwise might have missed the main page/index?
Just a friendly notice that the comic isn't being continued, but if they are fine with that, then to continue reading. It's well worth reading up till the last page because of the talent within, both in art and writing. But some people may not want to get attached to it only to come to the last page and realize it ended abruptly.
I'm not trying to push new people away from you of course! But it is something that would hit a new reader pretty hard if they missed the index somehow. You two really did do that well of a job of pulling readers into the world, characters, and story. :)
Aristocles (Jul 30th, 2012 at 1:09 pm)This is the saddest thing since Homestar Runner suddenly stopped updating.
Catfish (Jul 30th, 2012 at 8:20 pm)Monday just isn't the same
Iron Ed (Aug 7th, 2012 at 9:30 pm)LOL! I see you deleted the 'vote' button... Finally get tired of me voting for a comic that is no longer updating?
:-) :-) :-)
Don't worry; I still have your home-page bookmarked!
Nightlyre (Aug 8th, 2012 at 5:56 pm)I had my bets on who would notice first, and you were high on the list. ;) I do need to get some updates done to this page, but in the meantime, I forgot to post a link to the new snakey painting here. I'll get that done shortly.
Iron Ed (Aug 9th, 2012 at 1:16 pm)Awwww.. I'm glad you have sooo much confidence in me! :-)
Nessa (Aug 30th, 2012 at 1:36 am)Well fudge!
Alright, since it's the end I hereby declare that Ash ends up with Arid. (Or at least that's how I'm going to remember it!!!) ;-)
MSB (Nov 19th, 2012 at 9:40 pm)Just hasn't been same on Monday without you two and your comic. Hope all is well!
