Ahem. You go, Ashleigh!
Okay, first off, I've got a brand new lineart up on deviantArt if you're the coloring type. It's for a contest themed around the Year of the Dragon and books. ...they couldn't decide between themes, so they just used them both. :)
Since I didn't get to it last weekend, there's some excellent folks we met at DarkCon that I need to mention! Our neighboring vendors made the weekend one to remember! Right behind us were Art and Kathy, who had some ingenious steampunk jewelry. I'm not sure if they've got a website though - so if either of you are reading, let me know and I'll link you! Beside us were horror writer Darryl Dawson and fantasy author Micaela Fischer. I've got a copy of her book and will be reading that soon! Across the way was the wonderfully cheerful artist, April Grady-Reyna. Beside her was Ernie Hudson (from Ghostbusters), and the fellow who was there with him, Derek Maki, was part of the creative team on a werewolf-themed comic called I of the Wolf. I was trying to convince him to make it a webcomic! Further down our row was Madame M, a horror/gothic artist with a beautiful style, and also a fellow Tiny Army member! There's also Lynn Everhart, who we got to meet last year at LepreCon as well. Last, but definitely not least, is Shelly from Mystic Pieces, a collection of amazing handmade vintage and steampunk style jewelry. And, while not a vendor, Captain Gato Bajou is a most excellent pirate costumer who visited us throughout the convention!
I love being surrounded by creative people. :D
I also happen to know a lot of you have creative endeavors of one kind or another going. So, time to share! Do you write? Draw? Sculpt? Make costumes? Create music? Comics? Or anything else? If you have a website, feel free to share it as well. Hey, free advertising, what could be better than that? :D
Stabby stabby sta.....wait, no stabby stabby?....Not a rogue then.
As usual, my minimalist policies prevent me from writing a novel. So, go vote, please!
P.S. DarkCon was a blast!

I write poetry, and occasionally music. I also build paper crafts and I used to paint but I'm much too busy as of late to be doing much of anything. Although, I have been actively working on the script for my up-and-coming webcomic that has yet to be released (as I'm not the one drawing it and she doesn't want to work on it until she has more time as well >.>)
Still, we have been committed to releasing a comic strip for a mini series every Sunday so come check us out! http://straydogpack.weebly.com/

Is the "Ulk ulk ulk" crying from the goblin?
Almonihah (Jan 22nd, 2012 at 8:23 pm)
I write, though not very well. Or rather, I write, but I don't edit and revise afterward. Yet. I just want to get the whole thing down, first... but yes, that's what's linked on my user name. Just don't expect anything polished for a long, long time.
Leiai of the D'ni (Jan 22nd, 2012 at 10:12 pm)
awe... they're awfully cute :D Bad yellow eyes! Bad!
Nessa (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 12:21 am)
He may be bad but he sure is cute.
Er.. ;-)
Hilvon (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 1:50 am)
Well... Arid may be harsh, but he did not mean to kill the she-goblin (Or else he got planty time for that). All he wanted was scareing.
And true - your goblins here are very cute and seem friendly. :)

I write original sci-fi and fantasy and post it on my site, linked above and posted below. I update three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. My current serial is a mixed-genre adventure romance titled "Beauty and the Geist."
I have a sci-fi serial, "Space & Time," which will begin syndication on www.curiosityquills.com on 7 February 2012.
My site is www.lilyfieldsfiction.com. Thanks for this wonderful webcomic!
ShadowclawFC (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 12:09 pm)
'ulk ulk ulk' ? sounds like a seal
I write, roleplay (more like a giant co-op story with a bunch of other people), draw, colour, cross-stitch- latch-hook, knit, gonna try sculpting, paint, build sand cakes/pies, etc. Good at a lot, but not a lot good at any, unfortunately. Still searching for the one thing I can truly master.
Lilly (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 1:28 pm)
I think "yellow eyes" is a good name for Arid. :)
I draw a lot and I write some. I just started a webcomic. You guys are a inspiration! I love your comic. And not just because of the cool dragons and handsome elves. But that helps. <3
Stormwing (Jan 27th, 2012 at 9:13 pm)
Yelloweyes is agood name for him...
personaly I think they make him look hotter...
Wait, did I just say that out loud?!
(no stabby stabby? NOOOOO!)
Hey did any one see "FMA Roy Mustang;Tiny mimi-skirts?
I recomend it because its hilarious, its on youtube...
speaking of youtube, Nightlyre@ should make an animation... It would be cool. But zee question is, of what?
Nightlyre (Feb 10th, 2012 at 10:33 am)
Dark White is a very interesting comic so far, and I quite like your art style. Keep it up!
I've sort of done an animation before, a time lapse of me drawing a dragon (here). I do need to do more things like that... it's just kind of a pain to set up. But the result is fun!
Rune (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 2:25 pm)
I'm on Arid's side on this one. Goblins, don't whine! >:(
Iron Ed (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 4:38 pm)
Lovin' Ashleigh in the third panel. Sic 'em, Ash!!
Feel sorry for Nis; I think I'll like her if she sticks around. Can't fault Lares a bit for his comment; Arid way over-reacted...again.
Creative? Hmm... Maybe you should judge! ;-)
I write; although I'm not sure what to call it. None of it is published anywhere, yet. I have three dragon short-stories, a couple of fan-fics for Cyantian Tales, I started a modern-times dragon book a while back but haven't added to it in a couple of years. I've been trying to think about that one more again lately though. (It's currently 100-130 pages.)
I have a small amount of fun stuff posted at www.intrex.net/econen The ghost and lazer-printer pieces are true; the Sasquatch stuff has a (small) grain of truth behind it. (think 'very small')
Do a little painting and gourd art, but not lately. Right now I'm trying to teach myself to draw webcomic style. You can see what I've done on my Flickr account:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/30217667@N07/ So far it's all fan-art for Precociouscomic.com A small dragon painting is at the top of the 2nd page. The mountain has a funny story to it. ;-) There's also a bunch of photography there. (Hmm.. Should I move this stuff to DeviantArt or FurAffinity??)
Okay; this is getting ridiculously long. I'll stop talking now...or at least try to. :-)
Nightlyre (Feb 10th, 2012 at 10:41 am)
No reason you shouldn't move the artwork and even the photos over to deviantArt, and the art to FurAffinity... or both. I know a lot of people have accounts on each one. I'm not sure I do enough anthromorphic artwork lately to justify a FurAffinity account, but they might still enjoy the dragons, and our take on the goblins and orcs.
I actually just got a few gourds to play around with last weekend; there's a gourd festival not far from here. It's the first time I'd been to one, and I was quite impressed at what could be done with them!
Iron Ed (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 4:40 pm)
Dang-it! Gotta look the pic over carefully a second time before hitting "Post".
Really like the blue flowers in the bottom-left corner of panel seven!
Iron Ed (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 4:41 pm)
All right; so I can't count either: Panel -8-. Sheesh. :-)
Lazy J (Jan 23rd, 2012 at 10:45 pm)
i just love the detail of Lars expression and his face very powerful emotions are showing its awsome
Kudos to the artist

Thank you!

Interesting challenge and I almost passed it by. ;) These days I am a writer with seven full (>96,000 words) SciFi/Fantasy novels in various stages of production and a few more in the planning stages.
I have been a Pro-Am jazz-blues-rock guitarist for close to 50 years but I haven't written anything much since the 80's.
My prior career is creative as well, as a professional designer, bringing technology to the marketplace. I did that for 30 years until I closed my Silicon Valley company in 2003. I've worked with both your phone company and IBM on new products. I was a partner with US Web during the dot-com daze.
Create is what I do and they'll never be able to get me to retire ;)
Nightlyre (Feb 10th, 2012 at 11:03 am)
Hear, hear!
Iron Ed (Jan 24th, 2012 at 3:49 pm)
Wow! There are a lot of creative people here! Nice!
Kiranis (Jan 24th, 2012 at 5:35 pm)
What nice teeth you have..... that's a 4d6 bite if I ever saw one.
amberblaze77 (Jan 24th, 2012 at 6:54 pm)
Creative endeavors, that's something I have! I do all kinds of art, but mostly drawing, sometimes sculpting, and I dabble in the occasional few paragraphs of prose. www.elyslullabye.deviantart.com I do believe I watch you on there, Nightlyre.
Anyway, I love this comic and have been following it for a long time! Great to watch it coming along! ^^
Nightlyre (Feb 10th, 2012 at 11:27 am)
Thank you for the link there! I see you've done some ceramics too. I used to work with ceramics a lot, and I kind of miss it. Sculpting is awesome. :D
Amberblaze77 (Feb 13th, 2012 at 7:13 pm)
You're welcome! I like working with ceramics, though it's not my strongest point... ^^; And sorry for the late reply...
Kittenzero (Jan 25th, 2012 at 1:16 am)
First of all I love your comic. I'm not into high fantasy, but this story really got "something".
I draw and write, I'm also comic creator.
Here's my webcomic I started recently. Sort of slice of life story:
http://lifemovie.smackjeeves.com/
Sorry for shameless self promotion but you asked ;)
Nightlyre (Feb 10th, 2012 at 11:28 am)
Shameless self-promotion is a good thing! I like your drawing style there.
DoctorZuber (Jan 25th, 2012 at 3:07 am)
I'm looking closely at Nis' hands. In the first panel of the previous page, there was something in her hand that she presumably pilfered from Arid's pack. In the chaos of being grabbed, it disappears, presumably dropped but we never actually saw that.
It's possible our quick fingered little friend managed to shove it into a pocket or something before she got pinned up against a tree.
Iron Ed (Jan 25th, 2012 at 5:20 pm)
If you're talking about in the first panel of the previous page, that is a knob on the saddle seen through the curve of Nis' fingers. (I had to ask Nightlyre too. :-)) I don't see anything else in her hand. Did I miss what you're seeing?
DoctorZuber (Jan 25th, 2012 at 5:27 pm)
Could be.
Isolde (Jan 26th, 2012 at 3:29 pm)
I hope we will see more of your Goblins. They are so adorable. And I feel so bad for poor Nis.
DoctorZuber (Jan 26th, 2012 at 4:21 pm)
I must admit I find your "goblins" quite interesting. They have their own unique look to them, they are nicely drawn, and they have their own interesting personality.
In short, I like 'em.
Admittedly, they are not what I expected. Goblins after all are a fairly well established critter who are short, with green/yellowish leathery skin, poor complexion, and rotten teeth. These cute little rat/kangaroo looking critters were a surprise to me, but not an unwelcome one.
What matters to me is that you have good art, and that you say consistent to your own look and style. So far, I think you have done that very well. And any time you can bring something fresh and new to your own private little world like this, I think that's a good thing.
Nightlyre (Feb 10th, 2012 at 11:32 am)
Thanks! That is definitely what we're trying to do - we're big fans of "traditional" high fantasy, but enjoy putting our own spin on things. There's much more to come. :D
Rafun Li (Jan 28th, 2012 at 8:15 am)
I write a lot, but it's all German and I don't have a website yet. I also like to draw my charcters. You can find me on DeviantArt as rafun1312 or just search the page for pictures named Rafun.
Asides from that - Ash is really cool. Love how she's not at all afraid of Arid. And I love those goblins, too!
Nightlyre (Feb 10th, 2012 at 11:38 am)
Nice drawing style and detail work you've got there. I enjoyed looking through the photos, too - some great images! Poor little cold ducks!
Rafun Li (Feb 17th, 2012 at 8:57 am)
Yes, but lucky for them, all the ice melted in the last few days. And thanks a lot!
Stormwing (Jan 30th, 2012 at 9:30 pm)
Go Ash! Kick the mean Dark Elf right where it hurts!
His ego! Dun dun DuDuuuuuh!
I like drawing, reading, spazing out to the point my teacher sends the class outside for a half an hour...
I once made an awsome dragon sculpture, and I was going to enter it in the fair. But it kept on falling apart...
So I made a base for it, that looked like a volcano. And put an old, glass, clock guard, thingy over it to help protectit from the elements such as our enormous mutt, Pupa. Speaking of which... Oh my GOD! ITS GONE (excuse me as I freak out now)DAMMIT! It took me FOREVER to finish that!!!!!! Pupa did you burry it?!
Stormwing (Jan 30th, 2012 at 9:53 pm)
Never mind... I found it, now if only I could find my Poke'mon White version that easily...
"I like trains..." BEAOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!
"I made you a pie!" " OO what flavor?!" "Pie flavor!!"
DUDUH DUUUUUUUUUUH!
I did not come up with these, but they are to awsome not to post...
